MCC Story

Morgan’s Caring Connection originated shortly after the unexpected loss of our daughter, Morgan. In the aftermath, we found ourselves grappling with myriad challenges that had long been present in our lives. From making funeral arrangements to drafting an obituary, from taking time off work to managing unforeseen financial burdens, we were suddenly thrust into a whirlwind of tasks while struggling to cope with the ordinary demands of life. Over the span of 25 years, we had continually faced difficulties in locating and accessing necessary resources. While we had meticulously planned for Morgan to outlive us, we were unprepared for the reverse scenario.

Reflecting on our experiences, we realized the profound need for proactive planning in the face of such tragedies. Thus, inspired by Morgan’s memory, we embarked on a mission to assist others in similar situations. Our aim with MCC is to lighten the burdens faced by parents and guardians, ensuring they have the support, resources, and financial assistance needed to navigate the aftermath of loss. Through education, provision of resources, and financial support, we aspire to empower individuals to face such challenges with greater resilience and preparedness.

Welcome to Morgan’s Caring Connection (MCC), where we understand the unique challenges faced by families with special needs dependents. For most families, the transition to adulthood marks a time of independence and new beginnings. However, for families with special needs individuals, the journey is often filled with uncertainty. The lifelong dependency on care means that the worry about the future never fades, especially when parents are no longer able to provide that care themselves.

At MCC, we are dedicated to easing the burden on these families by providing a consolidated resource directory, education, and financial support. Our mission is supporting families to establish long-term financial stability for their special needs dependents, allowing them to sleep better at night knowing their loved ones will be taken care of.

With funding for long-term planning unavailable, we acknowledge the numerous financial hurdles that must be overcome, hurdles that many simply cannot afford. Moreover, planning for future needs can be overwhelming. That’s why MCC is here to help.

By proactively working with families and helping with these financial challenges, we aim to help families breathe easier, knowing that they have a solid plan in place to support their loved ones even after they’re gone.

What the Fund Covers

Families receive financial assistance for critical planning needs:

Guardianship – securing legal decision-making rights when a child turns 18
Special Needs Trusts – protecting benefits while ensuring future care
Estate Planning & Financial Guidance – building long-term security and peace of mind

Our partnership with Delta Beer Lab has been a cornerstone of community collaboration and creativity. Together, we’ve crafted three exclusive MCC brews Morgan’s Mighty Blue (Blueberry Blonde), Hoptimism (Climate Crush IPA), and Evergold (Pilsner) each inspired by connection, compassion, and care.

Through this ongoing partnership, Delta Beer Lab and other local establishments proudly sell our MCC-labeled beers and donate a portion of their proceeds back to MCC. A toast to community, purpose, and making a difference one pint at a time.

Every year, we set a goal for how many families we will support. Our 2026 campaign aims to award a minimum of 20 grants; each one tied to a donor or multiple donors. As progress grows, so does the visible impact.

This means we have to raise a minimum of $70,000 to meet our goal in 2026. Each donation moves the bar forward, and each step forward means another family no longer faces the future unprepared.
