Morgan’s Caring Connection Story

Morgan’s Caring Connection originated shortly after the unexpected loss of our daughter, Morgan. In the aftermath, we found ourselves grappling with myriad challenges that had long been present in our lives. From making funeral arrangements to drafting an obituary, from taking time off work to managing unforeseen financial burdens, we were suddenly thrust into a whirlwind of tasks while struggling to cope with the ordinary demands of life.
Over the span of 25 years, we had continually faced difficulties in locating and accessing necessary resources. While we had meticulously planned for Morgan to outlive us, we were unprepared for the reverse scenario. Our experience revealed how overwhelming the future can feel for families caring for loved ones with special needs.

Our Mission & Purpose

Reflecting on our experiences, we realized the profound need for proactive planning in the face of such tragedies. Inspired by Morgan’s memory, we embarked on a mission to assist others in similar situations. Our aim is to lighten the burdens faced by parents and guardians by ensuring they have access to the support, resources, and financial assistance needed during life’s most difficult moments.
Through education, access to trusted resources, and financial support, we strive to empower families to navigate challenges with greater resilience and preparedness, helping them secure stability and peace of mind for the future.

Morgan’s Life & Legacy

Morgan was born with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, and we were blessed to have her in our lives for 25 years before she passed peacefully on October 15, 2023. She lived with a free and sometimes feisty spirit, graduating from Verona High School and later working at the Hodan Center while living in Mineral Point, WI. She loved music especially Hannah Montana, Hilary Duff, Big Time Rush, One Direction, and Taylor Swift and proudly considered herself a wizard in the Hufflepuff house from Harry Potter.

Morgan loved to travel, including family trips to Florida and her Make-A-Wish cruise to the Caribbean, where she swam with dolphins. She enjoyed camping, church mission trips, Camp Courageous in Iowa, and participated in sled hockey, wheelchair basketball, and martial arts. She served on the board of ARC-Dane County and received a self-advocate award. Morgan found deep joy in her faith, family, and community, and will always be remembered for her strength, endless smile, and joyful spirit that touched everyone who knew her.
